Hello My PIP renewal was due in October. I received a letter at the beginning of July asking me to ring a number. I am deaf so I wrote instead (as usual) and said yes I do want to claim again but I was unable to phone and because of shielding unable to get someone with me to phone on my behalf. I didn’t receive a reply so after 6 weeks I wrote again enclosing a copy of my first letter. I have now received a form PIP.1007 but I’m concerned it is a new application form not a renewal. I don’t want to start a new application - but I sent it anyway as there’s was only a short timeframe.
The PIP.1007 is a covering letter that is sent with a form for the claimant to complete, the form could be a PIP1 which I would not expect, a PIP2 or an AR1 Review form.
The PIP2 is the form that you complete when you originally claimed PIP, if you received this then you need to complete it in detail and provide evidence as you can even if it was sent before.
If it was an AR1 then you should look at the guidance in our PIP Claim guide.
You can still send information to the DWP if you have already returned the form.
The next stage would be to see if an assessment is required or whether a Paper Based Review can be done or whether a telephone or even a face to face assessment can be done.
