PIP reassessment was created by dawsden
Hi all. My PIP award finishes in January and I have not received a reassessment form. Do I need to contact the DWP?
Thanks in advance

Yes, you need to contact the DWP as soon as you can, it may be that your award has been extended but we have also had reports from several members that the DWP have failed to send out reassessment forms when they should have.

One other thing Gordon. I was on higher rate mobility for years which they took away from me on my last assessment and gave me the lower rate. My condition is chronic and has gor worse in recent years in fact resulting in me having some nasty falls one last year resulted in a broken elbow. If my award has been extended can I try for the higher rate still or would this be classed as a change of circumstances hence putting me onto UC? I also have the severe disabled benefit
Thank you in advance

Hi Gordon
Thanks for your reply. I called dwp and it would appear their was nothing on tge system for my reassessment.
On my last award my higher rate mobility was taken away from me. I went to MC they upheld. I was too worn down to take it to appeal as my health really suffered with all the stress. If I tried to get it reinstated would they class it as a change of circumstances and force me onto UC? Also I claim severe disablement does that get automatically renewed(or not whatever the case may be) when and if my pipi gets renewed?
Thanks in advance

Hi DM
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I am not sure by what you mean 'If I tried to get it reinstated would they class it as a change of circumstances' as you have informed us that you contact DWP about your re-assessment, so they will be sending out a form for you to complete.
A reassessment is done about six weeks before the award ends and uses the AR1 Review form, claimants are asked if anything has changed since the last assessment.
A renewal is done using a PIP2 form and is in effect a new claim.
There is a section in our PIP Claim guide that covers completing the AR1 Review form.
If you follow the link below it will tell you what you need to know about completing the PIP review.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...ip-award-review-form
Your SD premium is dependant upon you being awarded the daily living component of PIP and that no one claims CA for looking after you and you live alone or if you have a partner they also receive a qualifying benefit.
Claiming PIP has no effect on UC, so the answer to your question is no, you would not be forced onto UC.
