PIP TELEPHONE ASSESSMENT was created by Ms.Basset
I sent my PIP renewal form in by registered post January, then waited with baited breath for an assessment?
Got letter 2 months later saying I would be staying on current award until end of this year due to Covid. J
Just received a text message telling me I have a telephone assessment next week!!!
I'm not sure what to expect from this and wondered if anyone has any advice please?

Ms.Basset

There is a section in our PIP Claim guide that covers the telephone assessments.

Update: After waiting for an hour, a representative called to say the person doing my review was going to be a further 30-60 minutes and followed by an hour possible of questions.
I was too anxious at this point to agree, then was told the person I should've had the review with was actually off sick!!
I asked why I'd not been contacted that morning to advise of delays? Though I wasn't granted an explanation but an apology.
I declined the wait as my stress/anxiety due to autism was too heightened. I was then told because of this I would get a new date but this could not be cancelled again, even though this one was of no fault of my own.
I wonder of its worth advising DWP or do I trust that the assessors will be honest re: late appt call and late advice about same?

Hi Ms. Basset

You do indeed need to write to the DWP - and to the assessment services saying what happened and point out that this was not your fault and so they cannot say that you are unable to cancel the next appointment. They quite often try and do this, when the fault is their end. Also say what happened to you. And if you have the time or energy - drop a note to your MP.
