Change since PIP Renewal form was created by balltigger
I'm having a horrible time at the moment. 6 weeks ago when I filled in my PIP renewal form I was at the start of a bipolar episode and under the GP. Now I have a new psychatrist, CPN, a host of new meds and extra tests being requested.
The meds they are reverting to are bad for physical health but the decision has been taken that this is worth the risk. I struggled to complete my form even though I was mostly saying it had stayed the same and why I still needed help. I feel if I filled it in now it would be completely different and more recent evidence for them than my last hospital care in February.
Am I able to speak to anyone to provide details of the changes? I also put anxiety as a seperate more recent thing but in reality it is linked into the previous 20 year history and I was in a panic as I couldn't find my previous form which I know I photocopied.
I feel they will contact the wrong people if they contact anyone and that I need to tell someone but I don't know what to do!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Catherine
You could write a letter detailing the issues - and ask it to be attached to your review form. Explain on it that you were in the middle of a bipolar episode and therefore you would like the information to be added. Send it to the same address that you sent off the review form and don't forget to put name and national insurance number on it. I wouldn't try and speak to anyone - because you can't rely on them taking down accurately what you say.
If you don't want to write - then phone first, but as soon as the conversation is over, write down what you were told and send it off, so it is attached to your records.

Just to add to BIS's advice, the assessor and Decision Maker can only consider limitations that you have suffered from for at least three months, that may not be an issue by the time that you are assessed but it is worth your bearing this in mind in case the information you are sending now is discounted for this reason then.
