Preparing for Telephone Tribunal for PPI - Advice

I was awarded DLA Higher Rate Mobility and Standard rate Care in 2009 for an indefinite period because of Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and ME. In November 2019 I was advised to apply for PIP as my DLA was ending. I duly applied for PIP and had a face to face ATOS assessment in September 2019. IAt the time I was a 66 year-old pensioner and all of my conditions had worsened and continued to do so. I knew that the changeover would be difficult and that I should not expect to receive the same award as I had on DLA but I was unprepared for what happened.
Unsurprisingly (after what I had seen on Benefits and Work) the assessor;s report was full of inaccuracies, missing information and even lies! I was awarded ZERO points, No change was made when I put in a Mandatory Reconsideration, so I then appealed the decision in March 2020. I now have a date of 24 November 2020 for a 2020 telephone tribunal. I have used all the guides on this site for all the steps of my application, MR and Appeal and have also had the help of an advocate from a charity called Scotscare. I would have preferred a face to face Tribunal, but understand that this is not possible at present. I just wondered if anyone had any any good advice for a telephone tribunal. (It will be a 3-way conversation with my advocate being involved).

We have only had a couple of members have a telephone appeal and they have not provided much feedback so all we can really offer is practical advice.

Make sure you are sitting in a comfortable chair, the hearing could easily be 50-60 minutes.

Have water available and a pen and paper.

Make sure you have all of the appeal papers to hand hey should be numbered in the top right hand corner, if you need to refer to a document then use this number rather than any other that might be available.

Do not record the hearing even it is for your own records, doing so is Contempt of Court.

Don't be afraid to ask for questions to be repeated if you can't hear them or explained if you do not understand.

It will be difficult on a phone call but try not to interrupt the panel, let them speak and then answer.

Best of luck.
