Pip Telephone Assessment and Transcript was created by laumichael
Hi I recently had a telephone review assessment and secretly recorded the call which lasted for 25 minutes. A week later I ordered my assessment report to check the assessment providers findings. There is a large amount of discrepancies to what I have said and what is put down on the report. For example I said that I do not leave the house due to anxiety attacks and confusion and need someone to accompany me, the AP stated in the report that I said I was able to do one shop per week and is able to use pubic transport. I had never said this and I have the telephone recording transcribed. This goes on throughout the report and the assessment provider seems to be pulling things out from thin air and putting words into my mouth.

I am still waiting on the decision letter but from what I have read it looks like it will be an MR. Should I argue what has been said directly and state the telephone assessment was recorded and provide a copy of the transcript to argue directly what the assessment provide said?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said. But, if there are obvious inaccuracies as the ones that you mention then you should draw the DMs attention to them.

Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

Make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.
