Hi Moderators I have a couple of Qs pls - How long after sending in my How Your Dis Affects You form should I wait before contacting DWP to check that they have received the form? Is it possible to request written confirmation from DWP that they received my form? Also, when shld I check if I will have a paper based assessment and who do I contact about this? I included a letter from my GP supporting my request for a paper based assessment along with my How Your Dis Affects You form. Thanks Hil.
If you send in your form the with tracking you can track through the post office that it has arrived. However even after it arrives it can take several days for it to be uploaded up on to the system. If you have put a mobile number on your form you may get a text saying it has been received, although this doesn't always happen at the current time. I would leave it at least three days after you would have expected it to arrive to check.
You can ring the number on the letter you received from the DWP to see if you have been given a paper-based assessment - but it may take them some time to make this decision so you will have to keep ringing to find out or wait until you are informed one way or the other. You use the same number that is on your original letter. Be aware that a letter from the GP does not guarantee that you will be given a paper-based assessment.
