PIP extended followed by review form was created by Spaceman
I received a letter dated 25 September 2020 telling me that my PIP has been extended until 18 October 2021 because of COVID-19 but I've just received an "Award Review" form dated 17 November 2020 telling me that my PIP will be stopped if I don't return the form by 17 December 2020.
Are they allowed to stop an award 10 months early just because they don't receive the review form by the date they've set? How can they expect a severely disabled person (I've been receiving enhanced daily living and mobility since 2017) to complete and return this form and all the necessary evidence in just over two weeks?

Hi DJ
Yes they can stop your award if you do not return the forms on time.
You can contact DWP and ask for an extension, I have known claimants to ask more than once for an extension but it cannot be expected they will always grant one.
If you need more time to complete your form, did you keep a copy of your old application form and evidence? if you did then you can use this as the basis of your new claim where there has been no change, if there has been a change in your condition then explain what the changes are and how they affect you.
Remember, PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities. Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a better understanding of the criteria you will need to meet.

Hi Gary
I did keep a copy of my previous application form and evidence. They sent me a PDF of the PIP2 to complete after I explained that I can't write much due to arthritis, so hopefully they will send me a PDF of the review form and grant me an extension.
I don't know whether the DWP were slow in posting the form or if it got delayed in the post but either way it's not my fault that I only just received it and it's obviously unfair if the DWP can delay posting it (which claimants could never prove) and then penalise claimants for not returning it in time, when they've only had two weeks notice.
I've started reading through the current PIP guide, as I've forgotten everything I read back in 2017. I'll need to get a current letter from my GP just confirming my diagnoses and current medications and that my condition hasn't improved since he provided evidence in 2017, which could take a couple of weeks and then I'll send that off together with a copy of his detailed letter from 2017 and any other evidence I think will be useful.

Hi BIS
I've emailed them to ask for a PDF copy of the review form and for an extension but if they don't reply in a couple of days, I'll ask my carer to call them.
