Hi Diceman24

Applying for PIP is not about the particular medical conditions you have, it is about how they affect your daily living and your mobility. So that means you could come across two people for example with arthritis one who gets PIP and one who does not.

Do you meet the criteria? I can't tell you, because you know how your muscular dystrophy affects you against the specific questions. Only you can decide. It takes time and energy to complete the form, there's the stress of a possible phone assessment and the stress while you're waiting for a decision. but many of our members apply and receive an award.

We have a detailed guide which will walk you through the process. Guide to PIP and Reviews.

Do have a look and if you have further questions come back and ask.

Hi Diceman24, reading your post you have already said something very significant. This is "majority of time". Suppose even if on a good day you can for example shower yourself, or cook a meal, if you can show that 4,5,6, or 7 days out of 7 you can NOT do the descriptor because you are bedridden, you should be given the points score for not doing it. You will see all this as BIS says in the guide. If you are unsure, try keeping a diary by some means eg on your phone if writing is difficult, so you can count how few 'good days' compared to typical bedridden ones.
Best wishes, Denby
