Hi Gary
Thank you. There is no chance of the Assessor's Report arriving before the deadline for my MR though, is there? I'm guessing I should apply for the MR and say that I will write with further information?
Sorry for asking so many questions.

Hi Emma,
There are two stages to applying for MR.
The first is to contact the DWP and tell them that you do not agree with their decision and you would like to request a MR. You have 28 days from when you received your decision to that.
You then have another 28 days to send in your submissions as to why you think they are wrong.
I am not sure where in the process you are up to. You do not need the Assessor's report to make the first phone call. If you have made that call, and the clock is now ticking on the second stage, ring them up and ask for an extension on the basis that you are awaiting the PA4.
Do come back to us if you wish! We all appreciate that this is a horrible stressful process.

Hello
Thank you to everyone for your help so far.
I have received the Assessor's Report (PA4) and the assessor has recorded everything I said more or less accurately. I think the problem seems to be that I am not currently engaging with health services. I have contacted my GP and am waiting to hear back, but, as I wrote in my form, after a long experience of dealing with health professionals I feel like this makes things worse for me and I just can't do it anymore. I have a long history of hospital admissions (including being sectioned) and I manage much better if I just live a really, really restricted life at home.
Does not engaging with health care professionals really mean that I can't receive PIP? I am so afraid of making my mental health worse by dealing with these people again...
I don't really know what to do about this.
Thank you to everyone for your help so far.

Hi Emma
I have helped many clients in the same situation as yourself, quite often nowadays is that they cannot get access to any health care professionals and this was prior to Covid, since Covid it has become much worse to access help. The answer to your question is no, it does not mean that you cannot receive PIP.
Do you have any family or friends who give you support, if you do, ask them to write a support letter setting out what support they give and why.
Even if you get turned down at a MR you maybe able to win at an Appeal Tribunal which I have come across many many times, so do not give up.
If you have any questions come back to the forum.

Hi Emma, did you include any sort of diary with your application? If not, maybe it could be worth trying to keep one. This could show the way you live life really really restricted at home, and be submitted once you have a couple of weeks or more. If you don't even feel up to noting anything down some days, say so the next time you do write. I assembled a diary for our daughter by trying to call or text her most days over some weeks running up to filling the forms in. She could not manage it herself and even trying would have made her think about the PIP process, making her mental health worse due to fear. So I went back through my phone, noted all the times she was her usual chatty self -not many days, and all the days she did not pick up or reply, which was most days. This showed she was depressed. Willing or not willing, the mental health service where she had been an out patient was simply shut and she was never offered an appointment anywhere else. She got her enhanced both back

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update, but I wanted to thank everyone so much for the help and encouragement that they gave me, when I was really distressed and struggling. Before I even had chance to submit further information for the Mandatory Review, my claim was renewed and I was awarded Enhanced rates for both the living and mobility components (all after being given zero for both!).
What a waste of everyone's time and money, when I have been claiming for such a long time, and my health is worsening rather than improving, and unlikely to ever be ok. And why put someone who is actively suicidal (at the time, much better now thank goodness) through that?
Thank you so much to everyone here. I really appreciate it so, so much.
