PIP Renewal was created by Slick
Hi,
I am currently in receipt of PIP enhanced daily living rate and standard mobility rate.
My award is due to end in March and I will need to submit a renewal application instead of a review. I took my case to an appeal tribunal in November 2019 and had my initial award increased. Unfortunately the duration period of 3 years wasn't extended.
I have ongoing mental health issues and the thought of having to go through the entire application process again is torturous and unbearable.
I still receive psychiatric and psychological treatment and have a long history of mental health issues stretching back over 30 years.
Since first receiving PIP I haven't had a days peace. This has an adverse effect on my mental wellbeing. Instead of helping people the process often works to the contrary and greatly raises levels of anxiety and worry. Having gone through both a mandatory reconsideration and appeal recently I'm now back to square one!
The issues I faced when initially applying remain unchanged, if anything they've gotten worse.
I kept a copy of my original application along with all relating documentation and was wondering if it would be okay to resubmit this, making only minor changes as and where necessary?
Any input or feedback would be appreciated.
Regards

Hi Slick
I'm not sure whether you're saying 1) you want to make changes on the copy of your original form, or 2) you want to copy the information from the old form onto the new form with some changes.
You would be wiser to do option 2 - copy from the old to the new. Yes, do resubmit copies of your old medical evidence and anything new you have.

Dear Slick, I just want to extend my sympathy for the effect the whole PIP process has on your mental health. Many many claimants including our daughter feel the same. I just hope the system has changed for the better before I get too old to go on doing her claims for her. I shout to anyone who will listen, how bad it is [eg the lady from my bank on the phone earlier], most people that don't have any contact with the 'system' have NO idea how hostile it is and are not pleased to discover it. So I hope they will change their vote next time. Very best wishes, Denby

Hi,
Thanks for your response, I only seen it today.
I do mean copying the information from my original form onto a new form.
As things largely remain unchanged the information I provide will be very similar with the exception of a few minor changes.
I will also submit both old and new medical evidence along with the new form.
Regards.
