I am not good with technology, went on Forum for first time early this week and got a reply from Catherine, I have logged in today and I dont know how I got there but found some further replies.
First of all, thanks for everyone for trying to help. I am struggling physically and mentally and I
still terrified of asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration. I just need to clarify something if I can.
My Standard Care allowance has remained the same after a review, the Mobilty allowance is the only thing I am unhappy about, Previously getting High rate and now none. Do I point this out when asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration, there are no complaints on the Care Award.

So do they look at the Mobility Issue that I am questioning, or is the WHOLE claim looked at again, which I am not sure I can go through. Thanks, Mark.

Hi Mark,
It is certainly possible to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration of just the mobility award. However, it is also possible that DWP could re-open the whole award, although it seems unlikely they would make an award and then remove it soon after. If you haven't already requested a copy of the assessment please do so, as this may well shed more light on why the mobility award has been removed. I would also suggest that you ask your GP, (physiotherapist/consultant or whoever knows the most about your mobility problems) to write a report to send in with your Reconsideration letter.
I think it is important to stress the previous enhanced mobility award, and also stress the full nature of your mobility problems, giving several examples, (the members guides give many helpful hints.) There are probably inconsistencies in the decision. So for example, if DWP accept that you have difficulties getting in the bath, or perhaps dressing due to poor mobility, and then say you can walk without difficulties, this could be inconsistent. Describe your condition, how long you have had it, and that nothing has changed since the last decision, (or of course point out it has become worse as appropriate.)
Unfortunately we can only give generic replies on this forum. I would however suggest that you try and find an advisor at CAB or similar advice centre. The advisor should be able to go through everything and give detailed advice and help with your Reconsideration letter. advicelocal.uk/ provides information about where to find advice centres, hopefully there is one near to you.

I wish you luck. Claiming benefits is difficult, but please try and stick at it!
