capita/pip recordings was created by tambc
i posted back in december regarding a request to record my pip telephone assessment, here is my update
so i sent review form back in august to receive extension letter not long after, then to recieve assessment date in december.
i requested to record my assessment, i was incorrectly advised this was not possible, so logged a complaint with the customer relations team, who then told me this was not true and recording assessments were possible, so my assessment was re arranged so that it could be recorded.
each time i would recieve a letter with a new assesment time and date, i called capita to request it would be recorded, each time they would have to rearrange the assessment as they would advise me the recording facilities are not in place at the moment.
a few days ago i recieved another letter with assessment date for next week. so again i called up capita, to request a recording. i was then advised that all recordings with capita have been paused due to ways they can improve the service (im certain they have never bothered to record any in the first place) so i asked what the solution is, they then told me it could be months until they have the recordings in place, and said theres basically nothing they can do at all, i am being forced to go ahead with the assessment without making a recording of the assessment. is this against the law? im sure i read that therese coffey of the dwp said back in september that recordings are now being done for pip assessments.
i have been advised that i will get a call back from there complaints team tomorrow but cant really see it happening.
sounds like capita are doing everything possible to stop people from recording assessments, how on earth is this a level playing field, wonder why they dont want people to record the assessments?

Hi tambc,
Sounds like a right game of pingpong you are having with them. If you want to break out of it, can I suggest you read our advice on page 81/82 of the PIP claimants guide

Well done for standing up for yourself!
