Hello,

I asked my GP surgery for all absolutely all the correspondence, every single thing noted on me. It was free and I got 400 pages (it says the number of the page out of 400 pages but it comes with so many helpful information, prescriptions, Repeat prescriptions, all the medicat letters sent to GP by orthopaedic surgeons, internal documents like physiotherapist reports, internal MSK referrals, A&E discharge summary and so much more that I can just pick up and choose the ones that support what i say on my PIP form. I found the physiotherapy reports very helpful especially when they say list a summary of your medical history, they observed (before lockdown) I walk slowly, claudicating, limping etc and they observation of me moving around which may contradict PIP physiotherapist assessment of me is worth Gold and I did not have to pay for it, it is also acting like a diary record.
Maybe your medical report could help you like it helps me, I was never given one from the previous surgery and wish I did as it would have helped me.
Good luck and best wishes

My daughter's tribunal is tomorrow. Today I received this letter from the Tribunal Service: I have now received evidence in relation to Miss D's appeal in the form of progress updates. I have reviewed these and whilst the letters go towards conforming ongoing investigations, it does not tell us how her condition affects her in relation to the specific demands of the activities as considered in a PIP claim. Therefore, this evidence has no effect on the appeal submission.' I have been having nightmares about the tribunal but was confident that we would win. Now I am afraid we will lose, all because of a selfish, unhelpful GP.

Hi Irisheyes

There is very little I can say at this stage apart from hoping that it goes better for your daughter than you are fearing. GP's rarely write letters that confirm the specific PIP criteria, because most of the questions they would have no knowledge of. You can only fight your daughter's corner and reiterate the difficulties that she has. Make a bullet point list of the points you absolutely want to get across so you don't forget anything. Wish you both the best.

The tribunal has been postponed because a) the tribunal thought my daughter lives with me, despite all correspondence from me clearly stating that she lives in a different city, and b) they assumed she would be present and wanted to speak to her although no-one told me that this would be a requirement. Although frustrating I had a very useful and reassuring chat with the tribunal judge. I explained again how unhelpful her GP has been. the judge said that ny daughter and I would each receive a letter from the tribunal which we can send to the GP requesting her medical records. I thought the records would be sent to my daughter who would then have to send them to me so I can send them to the tribunal service but my husband thinks the tribunal will ask for the records to be sent directly to them. I hope this is correct. I also told the the judge that, on Tuesday, I had received two identical letters from the DWP and a third exactly the same on Wednesday ( a fourth came this morning) all saying that" I have now received evidence in relation to Miss D's appeal. I have reviewed the evidence and whilst the letters go towards confirming onging investigations, it does not tell us how her condition affects her in relation to the specific demands of the activities as considered in a PIP claim. Therefore, this evidence has no effect on the appeal submission.2 The tribunal judge said, " We'll be the judge of that." I am greatly reassured.

Hi Irisheyes

I'm sorry that happened, but I'm glad that the judge has reassured you that no decision has been made and they will read through all the paperwork submitted.

I have just received an email to say that the new date for the tribunal is May 6. Neither my daughter nor I has received her medical records. I have contacted the tribunal service to ask if the GP sent them directly to the them or if they can request the records themselves. My daughter has agreed to sign a confidentiality waiver so my husband can speak to the GP direct but we are going to see her (she lives 130 miles away) next week and thought it would be easier if she and he could fill it in and sign it at the same time so he could personally deliver it to the practice. She still has no diagnosis.
