Hi british bulldog

For the time being you will stay on legacy benefits, being placed in the support group would not stop you from going on to UC.

The SDP gateway ended on 27th January 2021. From that date it has not been possible for single working age people to make a new claim for HB (except if it is in respect of specified or temporary accommodation).

We do not yet have details as to when claimants will start to be moved from legacy benefits to UC.

thank you gary, would it be a good idea to send my pip assessment report and award letter to my gp for his records as i believe it to be a good report and covers my ability in the descriptors very fairly or would he not accept the assessment as it was not done by him, do you think it would be to my benefit for future support letters if needed in future , many thanks bb.

Hello bb,

I would be surprised if your GP wished to add yet more paperwork to his files, but there is no harm in offering them to him next time you have cause to communicate with him.

I am really pleased that it was such a good report, and I would keep hold of it to potentially use as evidence yourself in future claims.
