As on my previous thread (see above).
I am in the process of my 1st renewal for PIP ( am currently receiving enhanced for both).

I have not had a decision yet. I wrote a letter / document to the DWP with the errors / discrepancies in my assessors report (phone assessment).

I phoned a couple of weeks ago to check what was happening and to make sure it had been put on the system.
The advisor on the phone said that you are not allowed / supposed to dispute the assessor report before the decision maker has made a decision, but I was okay because I didn't know.

Its been worrying me for the last two weeks, (I doubt myself) but my partner does all calls with me/ for (including requesting the report) and I'm sure No one told me that (I use the form from this site for all phone calls).
In fact, when I rang before I sent my letter, that advisor said he'd put a note to hold making any decision before my letter was received. I made sure to say I wasn't asking for a MR, but reserve the right to do so and he reassured me saying that couldn't happen because a decision hasn't been reached.

I suppose I'm just looking for reassurance, but is that true - are you not allowed to dispute the report- even if there is errors, before the decision maker makes a decision?

Hi nic

That is not true, you can dispute the contents of the assessors report before a decision is made, we have had quite a few comments on this forum where members have followed our advice and sent in a letter pointing out errors in the assessors report before a decision has been made and been successful.

Hope you get the outcome you are hoping for, let us know how you get on.

Replied by denby on topic Not allowed to dispute PIP Assessor report
Hi Nic, I am one og=f the people who wrote in as soon as I could mange after getting the report and 'took it apart' because it was so misleading/twisted and had so many errors. And this being the first time I had even got the report and the first time in 3 goes our daughter got her enhanced x 2 without MR or appeal.
Do you know the exact time of your call and or the 'advisor's name? If you can manage it I would put in a complaint at some point about being err.. 'misinformed.' They have no business lying to people' though the first advisor I rang to prevent a telephone assessment on our daughter tried to say it was essentially compulsory. The second behaved totally differently, was a decent human, and put a stop on the telephone assessment for good on her record. Her successful one was paper based.
Considering it must save them money doing paper based, I personally question why they are so keen to pay contractors to put people through phone misery or worse....
Best wishes, Denby

Hello dear fellow members

What an interesting topic.
I wish I had done the same and taken apart the assessment report before I even got a decision standard daily living and mobility, that was 3 years ago. Especially when in the report it said i had no problems of flexion in hips on knees when a surgeon diagnosed me with fixed flexed contracture, if I had done maybe I would not have got standard everything.
Well well done on the two fellow members writing in and pointing out the discrepancies in the report. I wish I had done that.
It is nice it can be one.

Best wishes
