Hello.
This might seem a silly question but can anyone advise/suggest where I can get photocopying done during the lockdown? I’d like to copy my PIP claim form and also medical evidence to send to PIP. I’d normally use the library.

Thank you for any suggestions

Hi Karen,

I guess this rather depends where you live. Often the local council might be able to help, especially if this is related to benefits. (It may cost.) CAB might help.
This might work too; if you have a mobile phone, (or of course a scanner) take a picture of the document, and then share to something you can access on a PC. So you could email to yourself or a friend, and then open the document on the PC, via the email and then print it. If you just want a copy then just save it on the phone, as a pdf on the PC or to whatever cloud server you might use. If you have a scanner, then just scan and save. Again I'm sure a friend would be able to help. Failing that, if you know someone who works in a school/office, they might be able to do the copying for you, again this might cost.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your claim!

It is worth trying to get help from a school, a big secondary is much more likely. If they have a full time reprographics person she/he could be happy to take it on as the higher the throughput, the lower the price per page for the school. However be prepared to have them guillotine the back off any booklet type paper forms as they do not have time to hand-swap sheets onto the glass as you would at eg the library. Big machines have high speed auto feeders that push separate A4 pages through VERY fast. I used to work in such a school and got great help with our daughter's first PIP form and all supporting docs. Do check after that it hasn't missed any pages by sucking up two together, happens occasionally. Just punch either with a hole punch or if you haven't one, a pencil top left, and thread either treasury tags or string or wool but so the contract scanning people can get it out easily. They too depend on auto feed machines.
Good wishes, Denby
