Hi wondering if anyone can help? i have been on ESA (support group) contributions for a few years and "normally" would get sent the dreaded paperwork like clockwork each year, leading to an assessment...which causes major stress, before, during and after the assessment..waiting for the letter... this time i havent received any paperwork ...im wondering is it just down to delays with covid?? should i just phone DWP? Im worried sick ...what if the paper work has been sent out and i havent had it...any my money stops!! any help anyone in a similar position?? thanks in advance
ESA is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment based on the Prognosis Date completed by the assessor in their report, so your existing ESA award continues in payment until a new Decision is made.
ESA assessments can be anywhere from 3 months to two years for the WRAG and three years for the Support Group, you can find out when you are likely to be reassessed by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, the information will be on your computer record, or requesting a copy of the assessment report.
Covid-19 has had a knock on effect, if you are worried then contact DWP for peace of mind, but as stated in my first paragraph, your existing ESA award continues in payment until a new Decision is made.
