PIP.Assessor said need help but forgot descriptor! was created by VIA
Dear fellow forum member,
Unbelievable!
I can’t believe it! It will definitely help my pip mandatory reconsideration request.
Just now, I have realized, that the assessor despite saying that I said I had difficulties managing therapy or monitoring a health condition and her saying that she agrees I have difficulties, meaning she is going to give me 1 point at least, if not more,
well the assessor only listed 9 daily living descriptors instead of 10 descriptors and she gave me a total of 8 points for the 9 descriptors only.
But she contradicted herself.
The assessor herself under the ‘how I made my decision’ said there were 10 activities for the daily living part of PIP and 2 for the mobility activities.
That means I got 8 points only when I should have had 1 or 2 or 4 points for managing therapy, which should have given me 9 or 10 points or even 12 points entitling me to enhanced daily living instead of the standard rate she gave me.
And this is apart from other daily living descriptors I dispute because the assessor despite saying she was taking into account my symptoms didn’t (pain, fatigue, falls, A&E documenting falls, physiotherapist confirming my difficulties etc)
That does not add credibility to the assessor who made a big mistake, lowers her ability to assess my disability with the other descriptors even.
Maybe everybody out there should check their assessment in case their assessor made also the same mistake with them as my assessor did with me.
I did not think it was possible but the daily living activities as showing on pip award review letter reads in the order I can see them:
Daily living:
- Preparing food
- Eating and drinking (that’s the 1st page and underneath some numbers) and page number
- Washing and bathing
- Managing your toilet needs
- Dressing and undressing
- Communicating
- Reading
- Mixing with other people
- Making budgeting decisions
So pip is wrong. Only 9 descriptors are listed.
Checking with PIP test I can see she forgot to list 3- Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition just after Eating and drinking.
In my MR letter I am going to say she agreed I had difficulties with 1 daily living descriptor implying she would score me at least 1 point for that one, but she forgot to list that descriptor and score me.
I thought I would share that with you.
Kind wishes
