WRAG to Support Group was created by Oska 38
Hi there, I am asking on behalf of my niece who was supposed to have had a face to face assessment a week before the Covid came and henceforth it was cancelled. She received a telehone call in about June/July 20 and said that they would let her know the outcome. She to date has still not received any decision, if she were to be placed into the support group 1) would they backpay her from when she should hve initially been assessed (ie: March 20)?. 2) she is on high PIP and cares for her disabled son too, would this have any impact on their decision on whether she should be placed into support group?
Everything she does is online diary but there is never any mention of this subject.
Hope someone can help. Thanking you in advance.

Hi Oska 38
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work .
You say that your niece does an online diary, is this for Universal Credit? if it is then she should post a message on her journal informing that she is still waiting for an outcome of her telephone assessment.
Has she been in contact with DWP to see what is happening, she may want to make a formal complaint or ask her MP for help to expedite her case as she should have heard something by now even with Covid around.
In order to qualify for the Support Group you need to;
* meet one or more of the relevant descriptors, or
* meet one of the associated Exceptional Circumstances rules.
The Support Group descriptors and the Exceptional Circumstances are listed in the Claiming ESA guides in the members area.
If your niece is placed in the Support/LCWRA then it would be backdated.
