Hi n1bs, a bit of information that might be helpful too, is that my route for your brother would be to argue that he would be at substantial risk if he wasn't placed into the support group. Its how a lot of people get access to the support group.

It bypasses the descriptors even if only that applies. Substantial risk means that if doing work related activity or meetings or having to travel to a job interview ect would cause his mental health to get worse and decline, then he would be elegible for it and I have just won that on behalf of who I care for, if you click on members only guide, then the uc and esa guide that is about appealing, it has all the information there.

It also states how to word it too, like you write how having to do any work related activity or having to work or attend work interviews ect would caee his mental health to get worse and will probably make it so he has to take more medication and list everything that will happen to him mentally and physically because of this.

Because the rules are, if his mental health or physical health are affected in a bad way from being in lcw and having to do work activity or travel to and from work then he should be placed into support group under that basis alone. Then the money will get backdated too if he wins, which is a very high chance.

So that would be what I would do personally. Make sure you read the esa appeal members only guide, it has a whole section dedicated to it.
