Received copy of P4A form was created by Carol
Good morning,
After my dreaded phone assessment, I say that because the run up to it caused great anxiety but the assessor herself was actually very understanding and pleasant. I took your advice and got a copy of the form, my Daughter and I went through it and the assessor actually filled it in exactly as we said and referenced my original form as well and the medical evidence. She even mentioned how the stress of the assessment had caused me sleepless nights and anxiety. I've had enhanced on both for the last two years and my biggest fear is losing my mobility car as that is my lifeline and my mobility has worsened. My Daughter says it looks like I have more than enough points on the daily living and the assessor ticked the box saying I can move 1 metre but no more than 20. At the end of the form where it says when it would be appropriate to review she has ticked the box saying based on evidence I consider there to be no requirement to arrange a review of this claim as significant change is unlikely because my conditions are long term, and unlikely to change, even with further input and treatment. I'm not quite sure what that means in terms of a future review, im 60 in June so whether that makes a difference im not sure. Do you think I will keep my enhanced mobility in view of this and do the DWP decision makers go by this report or could they change things? Thankyou so much.

Hello Carol,
I am really pleased to hear that things are looking so positive for you. The DWP decision maker can choose not to follow the assessor’s recommendation although I can’t remember ever seeing them being less generous than an assessor. If they were to be, you would certainly have a good starting point for an MR / appeal!
If they follow the assessor’s recommendation regarding reviews they will give you an award which will last 10 years, probably with a ‘light touch’ review. Before you ask, they are still deciding what these will look like!
The good news for you is that having been awarded PIP prior to State Pension Age you will still be eligible for it in the future regardless of your age, provided you still need the same, or more, level of assistance. (If you do not get the enhanced levels which the assessor has recommended do please come back to us for suggestions about you can do.)
I hope you hear confirmation of your awards very soon,
Catherine

Hi Catherine, thankyou so much for your quick reply. I feel a bit less anxious now but of course can't totally relax until I see it in black and white. It's also good to know that I can get extra help and advice here if I don't get the enhanced. Am I right in thinking that the mobility box the assessor ticked would be enough points to continue receiving the enhanced rate of motability? Many thanks again.
