PIP TELEPHONE ASSESSMENT AND NOTES was created by Kenny
Wondering if it is ok to let the HP know that I have notes in front of me as I get flustered and don’t want to miss anything out

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Kenny
I think most HP's will assume that a claimant will have notes in front of them. It's up to you whether you directly want to say, but you may have to pause the conversation at points to consult your notes - which is fine. Don't let any HP hurry you for answers.

Dear Kenny, my take on it is this: just as it is a BAD thing to look your best [at whatever cost before/after] in the days of face to face assessments, it is a BAD thing to sound better than you normally do.
So I would be very clear to them, in as stuttery a voice as comes naturally, that you DO get flustered, and you DO need notes, and just that they must NOT think you have hung up or gone away, if you go silent because you are trying to find your place in the notes. This should hopefully discourage them from playing the 'spoke fine' card. Get a recording if you can-perhaps a friend or relative could be there to help with this?
After the event don't forget to ring DWP to ask for the copy of the assessor's report two days on.
Best wishes, Denby
