PIP change of circumstances was created by Battlezone
After living in Spain for 15 years, I returned to the UK. PIP is an exportable benefit but only the care component can be awarded. So for the past 15 years I have been in receipt of Enhanced Care Component. On my return I was asked to complete a new PIP form as my return was considered as a change of circumstances ie mobility component a possibility.

I completed the form which they received on 27 February. Since then I have heard nothing. I rang them one week ago to get an update and they informed me my case had been passed to the Health Assessors on 17 March. I told DWP that the HA had not contacted me yet, but they said this is normal. Surely 4 weeks is a long time to wait for an appointment for a health assessment?

Been waiting 8 weeks now for any response either from DWP or the health assessment. Am I being too impatient?

Hi Battlezone

It is a long time to wait, but I'm afraid it is common. Some members have been waiting for more than 12 weeks or 16 weeks after their forms have been passed to the Health Professionals.

This morning I had an unexpected phone call from the health assessors. Apparently they had sent me a letter, which I had not received. But the assessment was nothing to do with PIP but UC work capability. I have been in receipt of IB then ESA Support Group. I agreed for the assessment to go ahead.

I have many medical conditions and take 13 different medications each day. Questions were asked about my medication, then she started questioning about my first medical condition. When this subject had finished she told me she was going to end the assessment now as she had sufficient information to make a conclusion and did not need to go any further with my health.

Is this positive?

Hi Battlezone

Yes it can be positive, as it was for ESA/UC assessment then you cannot request a copy of the assessors report until a decision has been made, although we have heard from members on the forum who have requested a copy of the assessors report before a decision has been made and been successful.
