Hello Stuart,

The light touch review is yet to come on online, they apply to indefinate awards which were awarded 10 years ago. Since PIP is still less than ten years old we have not yet seen what they will look like.

Sorry to not be able to give you the news you hoped for,
Catherine

Hi guy's.

This is the latest from the DWP on light touch ongoing awards.

DWP Response

Following a search of our paper and electronic records, we have established that the information you requested is currently not held by this Department.

To be helpful, the light touch process has yet to be fully designed (the first ones will not be due until 2023 – 10 years after PIP was first introduced) but we would not expect it to involve a full assessment unless something has significantly changed.

The review is intended to maintain a minimum level of contact with claimants. We will continue to involve our stakeholders in designing the review process so that it adds value and best meets the needs of our claimants.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact us quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely,

DWP Central Freedom of Information Team Department for Work and Pensions

Hello

My husband has been receiving PIP since august 2017 - Had a review in 2018 and MR/Tribunal lasting until August 2019 - Awarded Standard Rate for both and due to ongoing health issues at the time he could not face disputing the award. However since 2018 his medical conditions have worsened and there has been significant change since October 2019. He had surgery in October 2019 and was waiting 12 months to see if the nerve damage would get better, it didn't he has many other issues and in march this year after a major back trauma we decided to ask for a review, he has just turned 66 at beginning of May and we returned the review papers before this time. To date we have not heard anything. Does anyone know how this could affect the outcome with him now receiving his pension.
Many thanks in advance. Lynn

Hello Lynno,

The decision on your husband's award should be backdated to when he made the application, regardless of how many hoops he has to jump through to get it. Provided this was before he reached his State Pension age then it should be fine.
