Hi everyone I’m new member and not sure if I’m doing this correctly, I suffer massively with GAD/recurrent depression and ocd ( intrusive thoughts) I’ve bee on long term sick since March this year, however after been victimized and bullied for 10 months at my previous job of 4 years, the impact has affected me much more than I thought, I’m so scared of maliciously been wrongly accused of something again, my case is awaiting hearing at a ET, my question is as I’m in receipt of standard care pip, what do I claim for if I can’t return back to my new job? Is it universal credit or ESA, I do have suicidal thoughts and wishi could just end this night mare but I’m worried my adult children may think they could of done something to prevent it, I wish I could explain and get them to understand that it’s what I truly want ( for all these horrible scared thoughts everyday)

Hi Sandra

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Legacy ESA no longer exists for new claimants, depending on your circumstances you may be able to claim New Style ESA, this is based on your NI contributions: www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance and UC: www.gov.uk/universal-credit, if you pay rent and need help then you will need to claim UC, you can claim both NS ESA and UC.

To claim NS ESA you will need a 'fit note' from your doctor to give to your workcoach.

If you have any further questions, come back to the forum.
