Notifying the DWP about a change in my illness

Good morning everyone,

I've just had a question from a client regarding notifying the DWP about his change in medical circumstance, the question was as follows:

They had recently been bumped up from low rate to high rate daily living due to having severe urine retention and a catheter inserted, however at his last check-up the doctor was going to trial removing their catheter to see if the urine retention will/has get/gotten better. They also suffer from severe anxiety so therefore don't want to be seen as "lying" to the powers that be and possibly have to pay back any of his payments

So summarise - If it's only a temporary measure then do they need to notify a change in circumstances, I realise this is quite a bizarre situation and I couldn't find anything online relating to this question

Many thanks,

Jack @ A.C.D.I

Hi Jack

Your client has no need to inform the DWP about a temporary change. If it works and works for several weeks and part of their award was based on this condition then he will need to inform them, but there is no need when it is an "experiment" such as the one you describe below.
