Awaiting PIP decision was created by Nikki Davies
Hi guys, new member here, am I posting in the right place? Lol. Anyway, I thought I’d share my recent experience with DWP. My PIP award was only for 2 years and that ran out March 15 2021. I’ve made a new claim and had my assessment over the phone with a very nice American nurse. Her report however could not have been any more contradictory! Awarded 0 points in the descriptors, but her comments were actually very supportive of my claim. It didn’t make sense at all. It has now been over 8 weeks and I’ve rang the DWP to chase up their decision. I got put through to my case manager who explained that they’ve made the unusual decision to send the report back to the assessor as based on the evidence they have, they do not think she has been fair and that she should look again at her answers. He said this step is in my favour and hopefully the report will come back reflecting that! He apologised for the delay and was actually really nice! I guess some DWP employees can be nice after all! Has anyone else experienced this?

You need to contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a (PA4) once you get the report you can see how the decision was made, I usually go through the reports with a highlighter pen marking anything that was incorrect or not said during the assessment. Quite often assessors will state an opinion which is not based on fact.
If you have any further questions come back to the forum.
