I have just got a letter stating we have the information we need to decide if we can award you PIP this is about 3 weeks after I had Telephone interview.
Can anyone tell me how long it actually takes from getting this letter, would it be weeks or months more??

I have a copy of the interview which was sent to me sent 3 days after it would they need??? what more evidence.
Would they have asked docs or consultant for more info?

Hi MrH2020

It's a standard letter that you received. That phrase just means that from your form and your telephone assessment they have sufficient information to make a decision. It is highly unlikely they have contacted your GP or any consultant. This only happens very, very rarely.

You can expect to wait up to eight weeks for the decision (but it could come sooner).

Hi,

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of evidence did you submit and how recent? I am currently doing my PIP application and my absolutely ideal outcome is that they say I have sufficient evidence and I do not need to attend an assessment.

I have heard that they prefer only recent evidence.

I have my diagnostic reports (of varying ages), an old work statement from 2019 about my difficulties...I wonder if non-medical evidence can be helpful too like the fact I have applied for many jobs and had some interviews without any success (to support that I have difficulties with interviews).

Hi Thimble_fish

I would be careful about using such information as a work statement. It's too easy for someone who knows nothing about you to misinterpret it. I would only use it if you're still working - otherwise, it's not currently relevant. Make sure that you stick to the specific PIP criteria - there are no questions about interviews.

Its often quoted that they will only look at evidence that's three years old - but they do look at older evidence - particularly when you use it to show a pattern of a condition that has gone on a long time.

Hi again Thimble_fish, may not help this time, but an excellent idea any time you do not get a job you did at least get interviewed for, is to contact the company politely asking if they would kindly give you any feedback as to why you were unsuccessful. Many won't bother, but if any do, and especially if by email which you can print and keep, this could be useful evidence another time.

Hi Thimblefish, I included all of my medical reports from my consultant about how my chest infection has been affecting me and also the treatments that I have had to have to try and keep it under control. The records went back 3 years to when I first started have all the chest infections on top of my Bronchiectasis, good luck with your claim.
