Pip reassessment was created by mikmikmik
Hi, I have my pip award to sept 21. I suffer from cfs and fibromyalgia. I get standard care and enhanced mobility with which I get a mobility vehicle.
I have had no renewal docs that were due in April. So I called up, and after an hour was cut off. I phoned back and spoke to someone and they tried to transfer me, at that point I was cut off. Next day ( I was too exhausted to call again at the time) I called again and eventually got through, I was told a callback was arranged for 48 hours.
Two weeks later no docs, no callback, no messages!
Should I just leave it, maybe there is a delay or extension, or should I write in or keep calling? Is this typical at the moment?
Be grateful for advice.

Hello whothehellvotedtory,
Unfortunately this is not a situation where it is a good idea to bury your head in the sand. If your award is due to end in Sept, that is when it will end unless something happens to make that change. I have not heard of anyone having an extension who has not been informated about it.
Unfortunately you really do need to chase them up on this. We advise people to ring the PIP office early in the day since the waiting times seem to be shorter then. When I last spoke to them, at least in my area, is there is a 12 week delay in getting an assessment.
I would suggest that you also write to them with your request (using tracked post), this way you will have additional evidence that you asked in time. I recently got someone's PIP award extended until he has an assessment and a decision, on the basis that we were able to show that the delay was their fault.
Whilst you are waiting for your forms, I would urge you to make use of the time by bringing yourself up to date with our PIP guides.
