I am an autistic bed ridden cripple who needs a lot of care from family etc.

What is the highest amount of,universal credit I can get?

Why does universal credit pay £201.40 when the benefits cap is 257.69 a week

Hello Pip,

Unfortunately your question requires more information than you have given us to be able to answer it. (And it is really beyond the scope of this forum anyway.) I would recommend that you contact a local benefits adviser, many will do phone appointments, who would be in a better position to help you.

This link can be helpful in finding someone advicelocal.uk/

Hi Pip

It is outside the scope of this forum to be able to tell you why certain benefits are paid below the rate of a benefit cap. We don't have that insider knowledge.

You know. You just don’t want everyone doing that?

Dear Pip, please be kind on the forum, the mods do not get paid for being there. I am not a mod but I believe the benefits cap applies to people who get increases for, for example, the cost of keeping several children. So anyone who does not have children to qualify would always get less. Apologies if that is wrong, as I personally know more about PIP than UC, but perhaps you could try using one of the benefits calculators such as on turn2us to check your own personal entitlement?
Kind regards, Denby
