Hi Pip

Your question is outside the scope of the forum but I will try and shine somelight on the subject.

Benefit cap does not apply if you are in receipt of a disibility benefit such as DLA/PIP/AA or receive WTC www.gov.uk/benefit-cap/when-youre-not-affected.

Benefits taken into account by the benefit cap are income related benefits such as CTC, IS, IR ESA, IB JSA, UC, HB www.gov.uk/benefit-cap if your weekly benefit income is over £257.69 single / £384.62 couple, live outside G London or £296.35 / £442.31 live inside G London. Child benefit is ignored.

If you receive more than the benefit cap allows then your local council reduce your Housing Benefit or the DWP reduce your Universal Credit until you are brought back within the cap.
