Quick question about wrong dates? was created by Johninpain
Hi I have my pip review and my last award was given to me on 8/2/17 I then went to tribunal and a year later the award was changed so changed on 8/3/18 now this is were it gets confusing my review says please tell us about changes since 31/3/17 ? The last time they looked at my claim was when it was changed on 8/3/18? Should I tell them or just ignore it for now?
Many thanks Sarah

Hello Sarah,
That is indeed confusing! Your last award was (or should have been) considered on the basis of the difficulties you were having with everyday living and mobility on the day you filled in your application form / review form for your current assessment. The fact that it had to go to tribunal does not (or should not) alter that.
When you went to tribunal the panel will have been looking back in time to the date you filled in your claim form rather than as you were on the date of the hearing. (This is why occasionally, if someone’s condition has significantly changed, we advise people to start another claim whilst they are still awaiting a tribunal hearing.)
On that basis I would therefore expect them to be asking you to compare how you are now with how you were shortly before 8/2/17 (when the first decision was made on your current award).
Going back to your question – the date of 31/3/17 seems to make no sense whatsoever. You can challenge this with the DWP if you wish, but unless it makes a significant difference to how you fill in the form I personally would not bother.
Do read our guidance on how do this form PIP resources , looking particularly at the section starting on page 113.
I hope this has helped rather than confuse you more!
