PIP award ending Nov. PIP2 sent was created by Yvette
I was awarded the extended rate at Tribunal last year and my award was back dated. The award ends in November and DWP have sent me a New claim form. I am autistic and this is an horrendous nightmare for me. At the time of the initial award I did not understand the implications of only being awarded PIP for 3 years as I was focused on other aspects of my claim. No one helping me at the time thought to highlight the timescale of the award, otherwise I would have addressed it. Should I phone DWP and ask for a review form in place of the PIP2? Having to go through the whole thing again is a form of torture for me, I have already had a migraine when I received the form and my mental health is deteriorating as things go on (and this is just managing the claim process at the beginning - I do not have the support that I really need). Thank you for reading this.

Hi Yvette
I am so sorry, but when a claimant wins at Tribunal - they have to put in a new claim when the award comes to an end. You won't be given a review form even if you request it. I know it seems overwhelming, but do look at our latest guide for how to fill out the form. There are some suggested answers that might help.
It's the first guide on the page:
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
If you don't have any help to fill out the form, you can search for advisors in your area. advicelocal.uk/

Hi Y.vette,
I too had to put in a "new claim" after winning at tribunal. I had a telephone assesment, I was very anxious about this but in my case it was fine, The assesment was not as bad as I thought it would be, hopefully this will help. Did you keep any of your origional paperwork? and tribunal decision letter as you can send that with your paperwork. Remember to put your name , NI number and number on all of the pages. I just did a little at a time and got there in the end.
Good luck

thank you for letting me know tracey. I had no idea this would happen after a win at the tribunal, which was itself an ordeal to go through and attend just last year in March. I spent over a year just focussing on preparing my paperwork. In total I presented over 200 sheets of paper to the tribunal which included the forms that had to be completed. For me being so laser-focussed comes at a cost to my mental health. Yes I do have all my original paperwork and I have new bits of evidence which I can provide but going through it all is traumatising on a number of levels and facing it alone. I will do as you kindly suggest, a little bit at a time while I compile my paperwork. My local authority's welfare rights team helped me with filling in the form yesterday by telephone but the support is not enough. My thinking process is not linear it is more like a patchwork process, I can't remember everything on demand. And anyway the most difficult aspect is finding and organising the evidence and being very thorough and systematic about it - no one is helping me with this. As BIS suggested I will also have a look at the advicelocal link.

Thank you BIS for letting me know about the mandatory new claim after a tribunal win. I had no idea. I will definitely make use of the guides provided on this site. It's just that as an isolated autistic person with unmet support needs it's such a massive undertaking and quite traumatising. I could write a book about all the issues I've been having with DWP, different advice services and social services - attempting to advocate for myself is all I have been doing for the last 3 years. Thank you for signposting the link to advicelocal. I will definitely have a look.
