Pip review not happy was created by Natalie
Hi looking for some advice got my pip review through and have dropped from enhanced to standard care 11 points.

I do not understand the decision. I have not got a copy of the report but it says I have changed payments from the 5th of July because you would not no medical evidence provided would affect your award? My pip assesment was middle of June. So have they wrote to someone or are they talking about a medical assesemnt ? I got 2 points for cooking as I need prompting? I am on a high dose of qutiepine 300mg morning 400mg night ( I think maximum does is 750mg or 800mg per day) it also says I have no input for adhd and no longer take the medication I told them on the phone assesemnt ritilin does not agree with me after I had my son and qutepine helped better than ritlin. I also have a cpn and a psychiatrist I'm totally confused. Any advice woul be useful thanks

Hi Natalie

You need to ring the DWP and ask for the assessment report (PA4) as it will give you more details on the decision. I can't tell you whether they contacted someone or it is evidence you provided or something you wrote which indications that is the reason why they have downgraded your award.

If you are able, you can ring the DWP and ask for a call back for a case manager to explain the decision.

If you want to put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration to challenge the decision you can do so within a month of the date on your decision-letter, but if you want to do this, then you would be wise to get hold of the assessment report (PA4).

You can look at the Guide to PIP appeals to find out how to put in for an MR. (scroll down the page) www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Hi Natalie, and my sympathy on being treated badly about the replacement meds. Some assessors act like they know all about pharmacy when they don't. If your CPN is helpful you could ask if they will make the call for you. They can perhaps try to correct the record about 'no input' re your ADHD and the fact that the new medication IS for the ADHD.
Hope they can help, Denby
