Hi Sharon2075,
I am sorry that I will have to generalise as I do not know the exact nature of your son's disabilities. Please have a look at the members guides, if you haven't already. Firstly can your son actually do the activities. So for example can he dress himself? OK so if no, then clearly points will be awarded. If yes, but eg only top half, then that will be the appropriate option and you will need to explain why.
Maybe son's ability is variable, possibly down to whether he is having a fit, or he needs supervision? Some descriptors have supervision written in. Otherwise consider the concept of reliability. This is from PIP Regulations 2013 reg. 4(2)A. Al. Activities need to be done safely, to an acceptable standard, within a reasonable time (no more than twice for able bodied person), and repeatedly across the day as required. (Dressing might be required eg 3 or 4 times, toileting could be 20 times per day or more if there is incontinence, communicating could be needed 24/7. ) All 4 criteria need to be met. Perhaps safety is where you may wish to focus upon. If there is a substantial risk albeit the risk may not occur often, then you may not be able to do the activity safely.
Whilst all activities might prove unsafe, commonly people with epilepsy will gain points for preparing food, washing and bathing, Mobility descriptor 1.It is not impossible to get points for other activities, but it is less obvious to see why these activities might be unsafe. It will of course depend on the likelihood of fits, duration and after effects, and whether there are just fits or other disability. You may wish to keep a diary of the daily difficulties that your son has, and the help ir supervision he requires over the next few days. To help put everything into context.
I hope this helps.
