Pip re-assessment was created by Jamie Richardson
Hi

I have been on pip for 3 years now,and at the moment all I get is standard rate mobility. When I first received my award I done a MR.I then had a second f2f assessment,by the same lady who did my first assessment, and surprise surprise, apparently there was no change in my condition, even though I had since been signed off by my GP with depression.
As my MR was over 2 years ago now,how do I go about doing another MR or appeal,or is it too late.i suffer with neuropathy in my hands and severely in my feet,COPD,diabetes, heart failure, had a perforated ulcer on my bowel, which in turn has caused severe incontinence issues.I am certain I should be getting more than the £23 per week I’m receiving at the moment.
Please help as I’m unsure of the procedures and am also scared incase they even take what little I get away.
Kind Regards
Jamie Richardson

Hi JR

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You cannot do another MR, you can only do one MR if you disagree with the outcome the next stage would be to appeal the decision. The maximum time limit in which to appeal a decision with good cause is 13 months. Unfortunately you are outside the time limit.

I am a bit lost with your post as you state when you received your award you did a MR then had a second f2f assessment. I assume you mean that you asked for a review due to a change of circumstances and there was no change in your award.

Did you ask for a MR for the new decision and then appeal the decision?

If your condition has deteriorated then you can contact DWP and inform them of a change in your circumstances and review your claim.

Before going down this route read our comprehensive PIP guide. If you look through that, it will give you some idea on how you might answer questions.

PIP isn't based on specific conditions, it is based on how the symptoms you have affect your daily living and your mobility as per the specific PIP criteria.

You need to show that you are affected for the majority of the time. So are you in pain for four out of seven days and what does that pain affect you from doing? Does it affect your mobility or your ability to cook, dress yourself etc. The same applies for your depression, you need to look at each question and state what impact it has.

If you have any further questions please come back to the forum.
