PIP Form was created by AliW
Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and I'm just filling in my first PIP form.
I've been looking at the guidance for filling out the activities on here but it seems to be set out differently to the actual form and the form. Any advice on how to apply the information and what format please? It's just a page that you write on. So for instance, do I list every aspect that I have difficulty with when preparing food and than answer the 5 questions for each aspect? For example chopping, carrying, standing..
Hope that makes sense? Having dreadful brain fog!

Hi AliW
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
DWP have brought out a new PIP2 form. so you may have a new guide. You can still use our guides to help you complete your application form.
The answer to your question is yes, remember, PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities.
So if you can't cut up vegetables, you say why not.
1, Because of frequent bouts of dizziness you are only able to sit down for a few minutes (try and say what few is). and then you need to go and lay down.
2. Handling knives is impossible because of the lack of grip and safety issues and the real danger of hurting yourself.
3. Because of the lack of grip you are unable to move pans, as you would drop them. You don't have the balance of strength.
4. Nor could you take a ready meal and put in in the microwave (you need to say why you can't do this - balance, grip, dizziness, lifting something out - the danger of burning and hurting yourself, being unable to stand).
5. You also need to say why you cannot sit on a perching stool (because of the dizziness).
