Evidence for pip claim was created by Francesca
Hi,
I've had anxiety and depression for many years.
Part of the reason for this was being the carer for my adult son who has severe learning disabilities, epilepsy and autisim who would have monthly meltdowns that would leave me black and blue.
He was sectioned earlier this year because of this.
My question is should I send pictures of the brusing I took on quite a few occasions as evidence for this?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Francesca
Only you can decide the evidence you want to send in, but photographic evidence can sometimes give an assessor a clearer picture of the difficulties you are facing. Make sure that you mark any photos with your name and your national insurance number. Assign a number to them and make sure in your evidence you refer to the specific photograph - what it relates to and the impact that it has had on your health (which sounds considerable).

Yes, I kind of thought of the saying a picture tells a thousand words...but wasn't sure if it would be seen as 'eew too much information'
I will include them, thank you for your help.

Hi Francesca
I don't think you should interview the photographs as too much evidence. Even medical professionals don't always understand exactly what goes on behind closed doors behind people caring for adults (or children) with challenging behaviour. And parents and carers are often reluctant to say because they naturally want to be protective, or accept some of the behaviour as the norm. It's up to you what you want to do, but I would spell it out in photographs and words.
