Mistake on PIP decision was created by David
Hi,
Thanks for providing this valuable tool.
I’d like to ask some advice. I recently re read my award which began last September. In one particular part they went against the information I provided saying my mobility was less than 20m, which is true. However the reason given for their decision that it was not the case and I could manage 20 but not 50m was that “you have no further evidence or pain medication to support this”
I am prescribed Naproxen, Duloxetine and Dihydrocodeine. Should I write and highlight this, given i have only noticed this 11 months on and my claim lasts until 2023 at the moment will I be dragged up to an assessment centre? I am just curious as I may be entitled to higher points.
Thanks for reading.

Hi David
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
You pose an interesting question, you can apply for an out of time mandatory reconsideration providing the original decision was less that 13 months ago, but you will need good cause, they may ask why leave it until now to query your award.
If you apply for a MR then they would look at the whole claim and you could loose what you already have.
The first question I would ask is how long was the award for? I know in your post your award is until 2023. You are normally sent a review form 6 - 12 months before your award finishes.
Have a look at our guides to see if it would have made much difference in what you were awarded. We have a very comprehensive PIP guide. If you look through that, it will give you some idea of how you might answer questions.
