PIP Renewal form. was created by lollo1
Hi the dreaded form has hit the doormat this morning. Our daughter is autistic and I have never had to fill in a renewal form as her last award for DLA to PIP took place in 2015 she was awarded higher rate for both care and mobility. Her condition has not changed and neither have her care needs, so do I put no change or do I treat this form like a new application. Also she is no longer under any specialist as soon as she reached age 18 they simply put her back into the care of her GP as her condition is lifelong and where she is at now is not going to get any better than it is as far as her needs etc. I am concerned that I may not have enough evidence.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi loll01
Please take a look at our up-to-date guide to PIP claims and review - which offers guidance on how to fill out the review form. We advise that people write something, rather than just say no change. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants. If your GP is willing get them to write an up-to-date letter confirming your daughter's difficulties. If they won't (and many refuse) - you can still use old evidence and explain why there is nothing more recent and emphasise that is it a lifelong condition that is not going to show any improvement.

Hi loll01,
BIS is 100 % correct in her reply.
Try not to be scared of the form, write every single thing down! Use extra paper ( just remember to write NI number and name on each one).
These people do not know you or the struggles you go through on a daily basis, describe everything in detail, even if it’s embarrassing to do so, they are trying to collect information, so do not hold back!
If it makes you feel better I describe dealing with the DWP like childbirth (and I only have one) .
“You leave your dignity at the door and collect it on the way out”.
Write everything down, don’t hold back on anything.
Kindest regards, loubylou.
