No one wants to be my carer. No one wants Carers? was created by paulcornwall
A strange one. I've just been awarded PIP after many years of avoiding it out of anxiety. I have hereditary condition which my daughter receives DLA for. As a result my wife received carers for my daughter.
I've asked a family member to become my carer and they declined (for reasons which seem crazy but thats for another day).
This leaves me with my wife caring for both of us but only allowed to collect one lot of carers allowance (seeing she's physically works 80-90 hours a week her caring a wage from the state work out to be a mediocre 75p an hour).
So, my question is by not collecting the entitled carers allowance, does this qualify my family to any additional premiums?
As kindly mentioned before SDP premium is not available as my wife does not claim PIP or alike (although the hours she is working, wont be long before she ill herself).

Hi Paul
To answer your question you need to use either an online benefit checker gov.uk/benefits-calculators or seek advice from a Welfare Rights Organisation, you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
