£20 Legacy Benefit uplift Court Case was created by Ultravox
Hi,
The case for £20 Covid uplift for Legacy Benefits is being heard this week 28th and 29th September.
IF the case is successful and IF the Government pay any back payment I hope the Government do not make it a Caveat that people on Legacy Benefits have to transfer to Universal Credit to be able to gain any back payment.
Just an "outside the box" thought.
Kind Regards,
Rob.

Many on legacy benefits are not eligible for uc anyway, if that was the case than another injunction would proceed

Hi Rob100
The case has been adjourned until November as there were no judges available to hear the case.

Hi Gary,
Let's just hope this time round a judge with some common sense and empathy will preside over this case, and favour us legacy claimants what's rightfully should had been ours too.
We suffered harshly during the pandemic and still do, so that 20 quid a week back pay over the pandemic would be mostly welcomed into our bank accounts. Which will also help pay towards the ever increasing costs of energy bills, and food rising costs.

Reading with interest the latest newsletter regarding the Court case regarding £20 uplift for Legacy Benefit claimants.
Could it be the case that the DWP have asked for more time to build a better case for denying any possible payments. The lack of Judge to hear the case as an excuse, doesn't sit right with me.
Just airing my thoughts and frustration.
Kindest regards,
Rob.
