PIP award letter was created by Gemma
Hi,
First time poster here.
I'm just reading through my PIP letter. I find reading stuff like this really difficult so i didn't notice this to start.
There's a lot of "you said you can still manage your.... needs" on my form when in reality I didn't say I could still manage them, I'd actually put that I still needed help and explained why.
The problem is that on my last form, I said i had difficulty with things and the DWP told me there was no evidence to say that was true. This time I ticked I still need help, instead of my needs have changed so the DWP have paid no attention. I have real problems reading and processing letters like this and it's taken me over a week to realise it's incorrect and now I don't know what to do. I don't have a copy of my form to remember exactly what I said though.
How do I call them to question this? I could really do with a copy of the form I sent them, but I am disorganised and didn't get one because it's harder to do things like that right now. I'm really scared to call them

Hi Gemma
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
You say you have a pip letter, but not what type of letter it is. Is it the decision letter that says what your award is?
If it is the award letter and you don't agree with what it says, you will have to put in for a mandatory reconsideration and ask them to look at the award. You can find the details in our guide on how to do this.
If it is a PA4 report of an assessment that you have had, you will need to write to the decision-maker and question what has been stated. You have a very small window of opportunity to do this before the decision comes out.
I don't know whether you have a mobile phone with a camera on it - but if you do, in the future, make sure that you photograph each page of the form you have sent in so that you always have a copy. As you know it is hard to challenge if you can't easily prove the evidence. You could put in a Subject Access Request for a copy of your form - but it may take some time for this to be sent to you.
Come back and ask if you have further questions and we will try to help
