I am helping my son complete his PIP form. He has MS. He lives alone and has to do physio exercises. He finds it difficult to motivate himself to do this because he is to tired at the end of the working day and has balance and strength issues which impact his confidence.
He has a friend who is a Personal Trainer who has offered to help him with his exercises for free. Because of his friend’s work pattern and family situation my son has to go to his place of work rather than his friend coming to his house.
It looks like the descriptor only allows for the carrying out of therapies at home. It seems strange to me that ‘home’ is defined by the DWP as ‘domestic setting’ and that could include the home of another person which would not allow my son to rely on the help that he gets because it’s not at his or his friends home…Does anyone have experience of this?
