I am a carer for my son who is 20 Autistic and is agoraphobic. He can't go into shops or around people, he can't talk or email and can't communicate with anyone, unless it's family members or someone he knows and trusts. Got his renewal for Pip today and it states 10 points for mobility giving him standard mobility. How can I appeal this as he is definitely worse than his last assessment. He goes in his Dad's car occasionally to go for an drive but thats on a good day. He gets enhanced for care, but even then some areas he scored 0 points, where it was obvious on the form he should have got more. I had to chase DWP for a decision as the review was put in In October last year. Maybe the case handler was angry as I asked for it to be done ASAP? Thanks in advance. I am so upset for my son as he has always been let down by the system.
If your son has Agoraphobia then he can't score more than ten points for Mobility (1), the only way to an Enhanced award would be for him to score on Mobility (2).
