I read with interest in your news section about the new shorter AR2 PIP Review Form coming into play in August.
Your news report quoted from DWP as follows : The AR2 form is being issued to claimants who have:

very stable needs which are unlikely to change over time
high level needs which will either stay the same or get worse
a planned award review date due on or at State Pension age

I had a 6 year award in 2016 when I was initially transferred from DLA to PIP. My first review was in autumn last year 2022 and I received a 10 year award not due for review until 2032.
Just to avoid confusion am I right to assume this new development doesn't mean I will need to undergo another review in 2 years time (in winter of 2025) when I reach pension age? I'm guessing it means I will be subject to the new AR2 shorter form in 2032 when my award is up for normal review? Is that correct.

If you have a ten year award then you will be reassessed using an AR1 and potentially a standard assessment.

If you have an On-Going award then you will be reassessed using an AR2 , we don't what form any assessment that might be required will take.

In either case, I see no reason why you to be reassessed when you reach State Retirement Age, the DWP are not doing this except by coincidence.

Thanks Gordon... I was confusing an ongoing award as being the same as a long award where they have set the next review at 10 years. I guess it wouldn't make sense to re assess everyone when they reach state retirement age as that would even further backlog the system. Thanks again.
