Hi I'm claiming pip for the first time and wonder if anyone has any insight as to why I've been chosen to attend a face to face assessment as I thought most were still telephone. I'm 51 and was born with one hand. I'm applying now because I'm really, really struggling as my one hand is suffering from over use. When completing the pip assessment I realised that I've probably been eligible for at least standard daily living my whole life anyway (mobility is not a problem, just daily living). I submitted full medical evidence including x-rays. So there's no doubt I have no hand!! I'm not sure what kind of physical assessmemt they can do on me. I guess check hand strength in my one hand? I will attend the face to face, I don't see it as a bad thing I just really want to know why me? It's not like they want to see me because they think I'm hiding something or can actually use my hand, I quite simply just have no hand!!
