I’ve just done my first pip medical assessment was created by Dennana
I was all set up to do a video one when they rang this morning to do a phone one. It lasted 80 mins I started off so shaky but got into the flow . For me it felt like it went fine but time will tell .

Hi Dennana,
Hopefully you will get the result you need. In a couple of days, phone DWP and ask for a copy of the assessment report- PA4- you are entitled to this. This should show what DWP are likely to consider. If this doesn't seem correct, then use the time before the decision comes to prepare criticisms etc to facilitate a Mandatory Reconsideration.
Good luck.

Thank you for the reply and advice. I have seen others mention to ring and get a copy but I’ve also seen all the horror stories about these reports . Tbh last few nights I’ve been chewed to bits going over the assessment in my head I would be so upset and angry if my report came back as a horror story . I’ve never done anything like this before . I’d be devastated if my state of health was played down it would knock me sick I’m seeing that played out in many posts . I Will think about it today about asking for the report how I deal with what I would see would be a totally different matter. But I guess I need too if I have to take it any further . Ty for your time .

Hi Dennana,
I think there's thousands of people (including myself on 3 occasions) have had their health played down, and been awarded zero points from clueless assessors. Many times, it involves us having to fight right to the Courts Upper Tier stage, to be granted a successful appeal. It's very tiring, and worrying during the course of it all.
Chris.

Drear Dennana, just a suggestion.
Do you have any friend or other supporter, any local advice centre etc that you could recruit? If you send for the PA4 but don't open it until you have someone with you, may be even let them read it first, this could be less upsetting than dealing with it alone.
Remember, it may, like mine, be a load of co__blers, but this is just DWP's shabby tactics. YOU know how your issues affect you, they DON'T. So, don't let the bar stewards grind you down. We all have your back on here.
TIP-have highlighters, note pad, sticky notes etc ready before you even open the envelope. Mark every problem with the report the moment you see it. This will reduce the stress of going over it to compose a letter.
I did this for our daughter, if the report is indeed wrong you can write to 'The decision maker' at the most recent DWP address explaining very very coldly the important errors [eg not spelling unless so bad in itself a reason the report is ""Not fit for purpose"]. Refer back to your medical evidence, add new quotes eg from NHS or medical charity websites, that show up the errors.
A letter like this can prevent a bad decision, so it's worth considering tackling it. And you will have controlled the situation not them.

Denby
