Hi mayhap20,

Here is a copy of the leaflet that you will be issued describing how self employment is administered under Universal Credit.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Dsvid

Thank you for sharing the leaflet link on this post. Me and my partner are in exactly the same circumstances. Recieved our mamaged migration notice for working tax credit. He is self-employed and deferred his state pension. We have an accountant report the figures annual and not monthly. He's got early onset dementia too, so we are going to find it impossible to do monthly figures. Is he likely to be required to go to the job centre for any interview in our situation? I'm currently old style CB ESA support group.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards
J

Hi jennylchan,

You are in a complex situation as UC could consider a deferred State Pension as notional income. So you need to find someone who could give you expert financial advice. Firstly you could use the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service . Their phone number should be on page 2 of your Migration letter.
There are also complicated rules regarding mixed aged couples. Hence the need for detailed financial advice.
